"Balà"

The black and white pics of porcupine (Bàla in Bambara language) come from Mali where they are used to realize the african braids.

They underline the low part of the seat as well as the back of the armchair.

Used fabrics are woolen Maroccan covers weaved in the hand.

The feets of ivory armchair are encircled by golden leather lace and of Acaï turquoise seeds.

Created using a vintage armchair picked up for a bargain in Paris. The chair was totally refurbished by hand, using French know-how. The work is composed of straps, hard canvas, leaf fibre and animal hair, steel springs, cotton cloth and upholsterer's seeds.
